About Race Club
The Warrego Race Club in Charleville was founded in 1882, these country races were held on a bush track on the edge of town.
In 1919 the Club commenced race meets at the current showgrounds site in town. It was another 106 years in 1988 that the site was redeveloped with the track and main building including a covered stand, tower, function facilities and a full glass members room located adjacent to the finishing line. The Club now boasts the best facilities in the west.
The Club holds about 8 meetings a year, primarily held in the cooler months due to the extreme heat throughout the summer. Whilst the facilities are comparable with city clubs, race day goers can expect the same friendly outback bush welcome and a day or few to remember.
